PublicationAs the COVID-19 crisis continues to expose and exacerbate the risks in our global food system, our COVID Response Program’s Vital Supply Chains project aims to inspire and share rapid coordinated action from business to address critical issues.
This Action Update highlights the significant and complex food risks for business and society and provides next steps for businesses to step up and act on our outlines priorities.
Summary :
- COVID-19 impacts on the food system are particularly acute in India and Sub-Saharan Africa, due in part to disrupted supply chains for perishable foods.
- India- and Africa-focused efforts, including many led by WBCSD members, are helping to mitigate supply chain disruptions, address increasing risks of hunger and nutrition insecurity, and offer strong platforms for greater collaboration.
- WBCSD has identified effective country and regional initiatives and organizations and aims to connect companies into these platforms to support and expand their impact.
- Discover also examples on how WBCSD members are demonstrating impactful leadership in these regions and other opportunities to get involved.
