Welcome to this inaugural edition of the Soft Commodities Forum (SCF) quarterly newsletter, created to update our stakeholders on SCF progress highlights.
Founded in 2018, the SCF is a collaborative platform hosted by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) to enable collaboration between six agribusinesses in identifying solutions to eliminate soy-driven deforestation and native vegetation conversion. By working in partnership with producers, consumer goods companies, civil society and governments to transform soy supply chains for more sustainable production, the SCF contributes to the preservation of high-priority ecosystems, starting in the Cerrado biome.
To report on our progress more effectively and comprehensively, in parallel to the creation of this newsletter, we are shifting from our previous twice-annual reporting to a single annual report at the end of the year, allowing the incorporation of progress on the Agriculture Sector Roadmap to 1.5°C and alignment with the Farmer First Clusters reporting timeline.
We are confident that this approach will allow more regular, timely updates, while maintaining accountability on reporting on progress and performance against stated targets.
In this first edition, you will find several workstream updates, news on the scaling of the Farmer First Clusters and the delivery of key pillars of the Agriculture Sector Roadmap to 1.5°C.
We look forward to sharing future updates through this channel and thank you for your interest and support.
