Tania Paratian
Director, Action and Engagement Tire Industry Project
Tania is Director, Action and Engagement, Tire Industry Project at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, where she is working with leading tire industry companies to anticipate, understand, and address global Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues relevant to the tire industry and its value chain.
Tania served as Head of Health Advocacy at Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, where she led advocacy efforts for the protection of vulnerable children from vaccine preventable diseases, vaccine equity, to strengthen primary health care and routine immunization. She led Gavi’s policy advocacy engagement at the World Health Assembly, the UN General Assembly,the Africa Union on Pandemic preparedness and response, Universal Health Coverage and Global Refugee Compact. She contributed to the establishment of the COVAX Facility, including the mobilization of 8.8 billion USD for the COVAX Facility and 2021-2025 Gavi’s strategy. Before joining Gavi, Tania led global advocacy efforts at the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF) on the Sustainable Development Goals, Illicit Wildlife Trafficking, Rio+20 and the UN Environmental Agency.Tania also contributed to global advocacy efforts with the Convention on Biological Diversity and UNFCCC. Prior to WWF, she worked with the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Malaria, and Tuberculosis in Geneva and gained field experience biodiversity conservation in the Peruvian Amazon and in Mauritius.
Tania holds a master’s degree in Environment and Development at the London School of Economics and Political Science and a bachelor’s degree in Biodiversity Conservation and Environmental Management.
Tania has fifteen years of professional experience in international organizations with eleven years of policy and advocacy experience in progressing the global and regional policy landscape for sustainable development and global health.
